My Idol Boy

Look what arrived in the post today! Since finding out Boy George had a book focused purely on his clothes and make up, I've scoured the internet to find a copy for myself. Published in 1984, the book shows you how to make some of his most iconic outfits, including my favourite, the kimono. It also shows you step by step, how to achieve his make up look! I'm totally in love with this book and will endeavour to make all the clothes, I can't wait to start choosing materials.

Amazing Find

Just the other day, my Dad was working in the garden and he came across this little beauty. It is the leg bone of a racing pigeon with the ring reading ‘ GB 97 J 300’. Maybe it’s not that fascinating to the rest of you, but for me, it’s an absolute treasure and has earned itself pride of place on my desk.

Nixxi Rose Jewellery

My eldest sister Nicola is the creator of many beautiful pieces of jewellery, including those you can see in the photos. She has even used deer jaw bones, found in the New Forest, to create a special one off piece of jewellery just for me (the antler necklace). The pendant in the middle is based on Winchester Cathedral and has doors that open up to reveal the steps and arches inside the cathedral and don't worry, the teeth aren't real. I think just from these few photos you can see her mind is a bottomless pool of quirky and original ideas. If you’re on Facebook, find her official page at Nixxi Rose and see what other wonderful things she has made, you won’t be disappointed

Last night i went to see the incredible tribute band, T-Rextasy! The band was so good, you could easily imagine you were watching the real Marc Bolan and T-Rex. They played all the greats including 'Ride A White Swan' 'Bang A Gong' and 'I Love To Boogie'. Without a doubt I'll go and see them again and if you haven't already seen them, find out when they're touring near you!

Hoof Shoes? AAAMAZING!

Ok, so those of you who haven't seen these beauties before, I would like to introduce 'Vegas Girl' the masterpiece created by German artist Iris Schieferstein. It was these glorious shoes, made from cow hooves, that sparked my love for taxidermy and fashion collaborations. My search for fabulous and original art continues...
